Watch this video for some quick and easy recipes to help you recover from Alopecia   -----------------------------  Alopecia   Alopecia is characterised by the loss of hair from the scalp. This condition occurs when the immune system inadvertently attacks the hair follicles leading to hair loss.The patient may lose all the hair from the scalp or or may lose them from certain patches.  -----------------------------  Causes:  • Heredity, hormonal imbalance, ageing, exposure to radiation,     & illness  -----------------------------  Food groups to consume in alopecia:  1. Proteins: Healthy hair growth  Foods to consume: Eggs, cheese, meat, chicken, fish, milk and soy beans   2. Biotin: Essential for hair growth  Foods to consume: Brown rice, peas, oats, walnuts, and sunflower seed   3. Vitamin C: Forms collagen to hold hair tissue together  Foods to consume: Oranges, lemons, sweet lime, berries, watermelon, spinach and tomatoes   4. Iron: Increases oxygen & nutrient supply to hair  Foods to consume: Oysters, broccoli, kale, figs,  and apricots   5. Zinc: Smooth functioning of oil glands in hair follicles  Foods to consume: Nuts, whole grains, seeds or any sea food  -----------------------------  Recipes based on the above food groups:  Recipe 1: Vegetable omelette  1. Beat 2 eggs in a bowl 2. Add 1 tbsp chopped onions in it 3. Also add 1 chopped green chilli 4. Now, add 1 tbsp milk 5. Then add 1 tbsp each of chopped carrot and bell pepper 6. Add some salt and pepper to taste 7. Also add a pinch of turmeric 8. Now, add 1 tbsp grated cheese to the mixture 9. Mix all these ingredients well 10. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan 11. Pour the egg mixture on it 12. Cook it, till it browns on both sides    Recipe 2: Fruit salad  1. Put ½ chopped apple in a bowl 2. Add ½ chopped banana to it 3. Add 5 chopped strawberries to it 4. Also add ½ a peeled orange 5. Add 1 cup watermelon pieces  6.Now, add 2 tbsp honey in bowl 7. Add 4 chopped almonds in it 8. Also add 4 chopped walnuts 9. Now, add ½ tbsp sunflower seeds 10. Toss all these ingredients well 11.
